This morning I was out at Cecil Park to run in the Burgh’s Pizza & Wings 10K. I am happy to support this run, as the proceeds go to the maintenance of the Montour Trail. I spend a lot of my time on the trail, and I think it’s great to have such a wonderful trail for running, biking, walking, and playing in my neighborhood. I think it’s important for people to get out and enjoy the outdoors, and the rails to trails project helps to support the effort.
This was my first 10K, and despite the fact that it was, ohhhh, only 85 degrees (!!!!!!!) outside, I still was able to clock in close to my goal time. The best part of the race – my husband waiting for me at the finish line!! The second best part of the race – the National Tunnel, pictured below, which offered a nice break from the weather. (Third best part was the yummy food afterwards!). I would encourage others to look into the Burgh’s 5K/10K next year! It was hot, but it was worth it in the end!
